Volunteers

Our volunteers are the lifeblood of the LPGA Corning Classic and the success of the tournament over the last 29 years. It takes 1200 volunteers to stage our event each year, including 800 uniformed volunteers, 100 student volunteers and 300 volunteers from the Rotary and Lions Clubs. The dedication of our volunteers has enabled us to return over $5.1 million dollars in charity gifts to 11 area hospitals, the Rotary Club and the Lions Club. In 2008, we will have 28 volunteers who have been with us for all 30 years of our tournament.

While most of our volunteers work during tournament week, we have many others who assist us on a year round basis. There are many tasks that need to be done throughout the year such as mailings, newsletters, etc. We can always use volunteers and you do not need to play golf to help us. We have many volunteer opportunities, and, if you would like to join our team, please call the office at 607-962-4441 and we will be delighted to talk to you. We welcome new volunteers each year and appreciate the time and effort our volunteers – both new and old -continue to dedicate to the LPGA Corning Classic.

It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a village to put on a world class golf event that welcomes the top women golfers in the world to Corning, New York each May.

Please be sure to read uniforms, bonuses and incentives, it contains important information. Remember to sign up before the end of January to get the best rate for the volunteer package!
