You’re an Important Part
of Our Tournament!

Dear Student Volunteer/Classic Kid,

Another year has passed and we are well into preparations for the 2008 Corning Classic. We have changed the student volunteer process a little bit this year.  Enclosed you will find two applications – one for standard bearers and the second one for all other student volunteer opportunities.   Please be sure that you do not sign up for two different jobs at the same time.  Please complete the application(s)  and return it to the tournament office by April 19th   to become an important part of our 30th LPGA Corning Classic.  It is important to return your application as soon as possible.

UNIFORM: Each Student/Classic Kids volunteer will receive a T-shirt and a cap to wear when on the course.  Bottoms (pants or shorts) should be stone or light colored. Do not wear blue jeans – they are not allowed on the Corning Country Club Course.  Keep in mind that May can be quite cool and our weather can vary considerably from day to day.  Before coming to the course, you should check the weather forecast and DRESS ACCORDINGLY!

While the form asks you to indicate job preferences, we ask you to please be flexible about job choices and be willing to work wherever needed.  This is a key attribute of a good volunteer.

TRAINING: Student/Classic Kids training will be held at the Corning Country Club from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13th.  Volunteer tasks can change from year to year, so all volunteers are urged to make every effort to attend the training session.  Please indicate whether or not you can attend so we will have enough pizza for everyone after the training session.

QUESTIONS: If you have any questions, call us at the Tournament Office: 962-4441.

All Student/Classic Kid Volunteers are urged to mark calendars now for the following important dates:

MAY 13th – 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. – Corning Country Club  – Training Session

MAY 22nd through MAY 25th – The 30th LPGA CORNING CLASSIC

And be sure to get your volunteer application form in the mail to reach us by April 19th.

Sincerely,

Diane Marshall
