Dear LPGA Corning Classic Volunteer:

30 Years of Golf and Giving!! We are excited about our plans for the 2008 tournament and the preparations for our 30th LPGA Corning Classic.

THE VOLUNTEER IMAGE - FILA will provide us with a quality uniform including a shirt and FULL ZIP jacket. The men's and ladies' shirts are 100% fully combed 40/1 pima cotton interlock in teal. Both shirts have contrasting light teal on the placard and color blocks of light teal on the side panels and are an enzyme-washed softness. The jacket, also in teal, will be lined for lightweight comfort with a drawcord hem to cinch or let loose. There is a zip off on the arm so that the weather resistant jacket can be worn with a full sleeve or a half sleeve. The jacket is a sporty style, enhanced by the LPGA Corning Classic logo embroidery on the back. The fabric is a 100% polyester Microfiber twill. The shirt and jacket will make up the basic uniform package.

SIZING - All uniform pieces seem to be fitting very true to size

BOTTOMS - You may wear your own slacks, pants, capris, skorts or shorts in stone color.

HEADWEAR - We have a structured and unstructured cap for the men this year, a clip-on visor for the women and a visor with a velcro close. All headwear is in the stone color. All headwear will have the LPGA Corning Classic logo in teal.

All optional items are offered to our volunteers at a cost well below retail in appreciation of your time and dedication. (See Uniform Description Sheet) We will have samples available in the Tournament Office after Thanksgiving to assist in sizing and have set up the following preferred try-on schedule:

Thursday, November 29	10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Friday, November 30;	10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Saturday, December 1	10:00 am - 1:00 pm

If the scheduled times are not convenient for you, please call the tournament office to make alternative arrangements.

SIGNING BONUS! - The contribution for the volunteer package will be $65.00 through the end of January; and then will increase to $70.00. The Volunteer Package has a retail value in excess of $300.00 and includes a shirt, jacket, food vouchers good for an entrée and a non-alcoholic beverage each day that you volunteer, volunteer party, season badge and numerous other items. Because it's our 30th year, and to assist us in ordering the proper sizes and quantities, those of you who return your application before January 31st will receive the following:

Two good any day tickets to the LPGA Corning Classic
Entry into a drawing for a Saturday Pro-Am spot
One ticket to the Wegmans Rochester LPGA tournament

We will continue to accept volunteers after the January 31st deadline, as long as we can fit the volunteers with a uniform. After January 31st there will be no refunds, as our final order numbers will have been submitted.

Due to security restrictions, uniform pieces may not be ordered for others. Extra uniform pieces will be available for sale on Sunday, May 25 in the Volunteer Tent.

RECRUITING INCENTIVE - Our new volunteer numbers were steady in 2007, which was great for us. However, if each of you recruited one new volunteer, our numbers would allow us to shorten shifts and better staff some of our needs. The weekend has become a real challenge in terms of volunteer availability, so if you know someone who would love to volunteer, but can not work a weekday, we'll be happy to have them for the weekend. Again this year, anyone who successfully recruits five or more volunteers will receive $65.00 to offset their volunteer fee. New volunteers recruited by you will only have to pay $65.00, even if it's after the January 31st deadline.

SCHEDULES - Please review the various committee descriptions and then find a committee that you would enjoy. Some committees only need volunteers Thursday through Sunday while others need people during the entire week. It is possible to work more than one committee and we encourage the diversity. Our only requirement is that you devote a minimum of one entire day to each committee you select to avoid the possibility of overlapping shifts.

MERCHANDISE SALES - We have some merchandise items in the office for sale at discounted prices. Please stop in at your convenience to look at what we have.

2008 VOLUNTEER GOLF OUTING - Mark your calendars for Monday, August 25, 2008 to play in the Volunteer Golf Outing to be held at the Corning Country Club Golf Course.

THANK YOU! - We could not do this without YOU! The LPGA Corning Classic enhances the quality of life in the region and supports 11 area hospitals, Rotary Camp STAR and the Lions Club. Our Junior Golf Program, conducted through the schools, has introduced golf to over 13,000 students through 2007. The economic impact value to the region over the past 30 years is $250 Million - $310 Million!

ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES OUTSIDE OF TOURNAMENT WEEK - Please remember that we have volunteer opportunities during the month of May, outside of tournament week. Please note dates and times on the Volunteer Application Form. We need volunteers for the George Douglas Junior Tournament to be held on May 4th at the Corning Country Club, We also need assistance on the Transportation Committee, picking up cars on Friday, May 16th, Saturday, May 17th, and Sunday, May 18th. We also need assistance returning courtesty cars on Monday, May 26th. These times are in addition to the needs we have during tournament week.
